Roots of Peace Attends Pope Francis' Historic Address to Congress

Roots of Peace was honored to be present at the Pope's address to the joint session of Congress yesterday. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi for her invitation to this historic event, and her ongoing support for the mission and work of Roots of Peace. Pope Francis talked about the importance of environmental issues; here at Roots of Peace we believe that taking care of the earth means that we must heal the wounds of war by facilitating the removal of landmines and restoring farmland lost to conflict.
